1)
This is the opening image for the video. This image is used
to set up the scene of another night on a plane.
2)

This image is the first of the video to show the contrast
between the glamorous side of being a musician and how he actually feels, which
I believe is the main theme of the video. Notice that this isn’t just some
economy class passenger plane. They are riding in a private jet, yet he
obviously has something on his mind.
3)

This is the first image of the band playing together. This
shot is important because of the emphasis they put on the background. The cold
and the snow portray the sadness and depression while the barren railroad
tracks express loneliness.
4)
Another image of how he really feels as he flies into
another city.
5, 6, and 7

These three images pop up several times in the video and I
think they are the most important in regards to the theme. All of the snap
shots contain 3 different pictures that express both sides to being a musician
on the road. All of them contain at least one image of him singing, which
signifies the idea that being a musician means having an exciting life, and an
image of him by himself, which shows the contrast between the glamorous life people
think he is living and the feelings he actually has.
8 and 9

This image of a lone microphone can only be seen twice in
the video and they only appear for a split-second. This subliminal image is
powerful because a microphone usually signifies a life of excitement and
fascination, but in this instance it has been used to show loneliness and
sadness.
10)

The final image of the video is the plane on the ground with
all the musicians exiting. The main theme behind this image is the lack of
fanfare. When you think of musicians
arriving at a city they are about to perform at, you think of tons of fans
screaking, yelling, and trying to get autographs, but this image shows the
exact opposite. There are no lines of people, no cameras, not even their own
families. This image is the final staple to show that being a musician isn’t as
glamorous as it seems.
