Reality TV

I really do not know much about reality TV. I have never really cared for reality TV and I hardly ever watch it so I can safely say that reality TV has not had a great impact on my life. However, I do know that reality TV has had quite a large impact on our society. I may not watch reality TV myself, but I know people who absolutely CAN NOT miss their shows. I know people who will drop everything in order to give the TV their undivided attention. Whether it is The Bachelor, Survivor, or Jersey Shore there is always going to be a slightly obsessed fan base.

I personally do not see what all the hype is. I do not see the point in watching people make complete fools of themselves for attention. Most reality TV shows seem to be the same thing, just with a different group of people. They always find people who will do anything for attention and put them together with people that they think will start drama. Whether they are living together in a house or on an island, they always end up arguing or fighting in some way. They force the "actors" into situations that will inevitably cause an argument and they record it for the world's viewing pleasure.

Even though I do not enjoy spending my time watching people argue, it is quite obvious that there are many people who do. Reality TV is huge in our society. I don't think there is any time of the day when I can turn on my TV and not see some reality TV show on. They are everywhere and they don't seem to be going away anytime soon. As much as I hate to admit it, reality TV has truly become a staple in our society and has become something that we must accept. Producers of reality shows are always coming up with new ideas. Reality shows come and go just as the consumers change their minds about what they want to watch. Reality TV is always adapting to fit in our society and it seems like it will be around at least for the near future.
